Edinburgh has so many great places to eat out, there’s somewhere different for every day of the year! Have a look at some of our favourite spots for some great Scottish food:
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society
Home to the elegant Scottish Malt Whisky Society, this is the accompanying restaurant. Set in a beautiful Georgian townhouse, this is a perfect setting to treat the man in your life, or take your dear old pa for Father’s Day. The whisky isn’t overplayed, so don’t worry if the amber stuff isn’t your favourite tipple – this is a smart restaurant, with good food and supporting drinks to suit everyone, and who knows, if you take your dad for a dram in the tasting room upstairs, he may even buy you a membership…..
Maison bleue
Maison Bleue is French for Blue House. Just so you know. And welcome to the House of Blue – not that you’ll feel it, blue that is, as you’re about to experience a refreshing and modern take on the traditional french meal. This place is perfect for a good summer’s day, inviting and welcoming, both in its decor and the knowledgeable and friendly staff. This is much more relaxed than most of the French restaurants in town, set in a great building, and it hits the spot food-wise too. Check out the lovely Irish coffees.
The Stockbridge Restaurant
What an amazing wee place this is. Tucked away on St Stephen Street, amongst the hussle and bustle, lies the cosy and comfortable delights of The Stockbridge Restaurant. This place oozes with warmth and hospitality, you’ll feel like you’ve arrived home and kicked off your metaphorical workshoes, I guarantee it! The food is amazing, the decor stylish and individual, and the service is fantastic. From the fairy lights, to the candles, to the fresh and top quality meals, attention to detail ranks high. Absolutely the place to go for that special romantic meal.
